Purity and power abound. Spilling over with generous fruit, mature tannins and whispers of lavender and cacao, our unwavering commitment to winemaking excellence is evident in every sip of this hillside favorite.
A perfume of plum and blue fruits with whispers of dried herbs and lavender opens onto a full, fruit-forward entry. Lively acidity and mature hillside tannins frame the layers of generous fruit, while soft mineral notes and a hint of cacao lend a delicate quality to the generous mouthfeel. One of the most nuanced Cabernets of the vintage, the combination of hillside structure, ample fruit and delicate accents are hard to resist now yet promise to gain additional complexity with time.
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Element 28 (from a vineyard located in the hills up above Lake Hennessey) is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 18 months in French oak, 48% new. It has a deep garnet-purple color and vibrant notes of wild blueberries, boysenberries and cassis with hints of red roses, raspberry leaves, pencil shavings and dusty soil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is elegantly played with red and black fruit flavors accented by herbal sparks and framed with grainy tannins, finishing refreshing. —Lisa Perrotti-BrownWine Advocate
